I’m Kris Ruochen Qi, a PhD candidate in FinTech Management at Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow.
My research interest focuses on standardization of emerging technologies, recently exploring FinTech in blockchain and AI. Beyond academia, I am passionated about quantitative finance research with ML and NN to build Alphas.
"I studied my second master of Financial Technology at the University of Glasgow after resigning from investment banking roles spanning China and the U.S. With a positivist, data-driven orientation, I specialize in empirical and quantitative analysis in my preivous works, bring the structured and efficiency focus to financial markets, real-world, and my life.
While, I am currently extending my PhD works into qualitative research on standardization in the FinTech industry. Theories and conceptual frameworks enable me to interpret how science and technology evolve over time, including the trajectories through which innovations diffuse and mature. Examining systems and standards has also strengthened my understanding of social dynamics and strategic business behaviour, particularly how institutions, geopolitics, and ogranizational motives shape industry outcomes and innovation performance."
